Parade

A parade is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. with rain time at 2:00 p.m. The parade will begin at Katy Park and travel west to Steuben Street. If you would like to participate, please contact Debbie Shields at Community National Bank. (620) 431-2265.

 

Community Theatre

Chanute Community Theatre, Inc. will present Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" September 28th and 29th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 30th at 2:00 p.m. Performances held in the Chanute Memorial Auditorium.

 

Pancake Feed

Start your day with a delicious stack of pancakes and sausage at the Chanute Area Chamber of Commerce & Office of Tourism' annual Pancake Breakfast, which will be served at the Masonic Temple, 102 North Highland from 7-10 a.m. Adults $3.50 and children 12 and under just $2.00. Stop by and enjoy a wonderful breakfast and visit with the family, friends and alumni...then enjoy the rest of your day at Chanute's Artist Alley Festival.

 

Train Rides

Tran rides on the SKO Railroad will be available at the Santa Fe Depot on North Lincoln. The train is sponsored by ASH GROVE CEMENT COMPANY and the SOUTH KANSAS & OKLAHOMA RAILROAD. Tickets will be $5.00 for adults & $2.50 for children with the proceeds going to Artists Alley Festival. The train will depart at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Community National Bank in advance or the day of the event. Limited tickets per trip.

 

FOCL Book Sale

The Friends of Chanute Library (FOCL) will hold their Annual Used Book Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in front of the Depot. In the event of rain, the sale will be held in the Depot lobby area.

 

 

Carriage Rides

Mary Jordan of "Carousel Carriage" will be giving rides starting at 9:00 a.m. There will be a small charge. The carriage will be at the east end of the craft booths.

 

Food will be available throughout the day at the northeast corner of Main & Highland, in the Depot Park and the many fine downtown restaurants.
